The first trailer for the indie western Rust has arrived. Alec Baldwin stars as Harland Rust, a notorious outlaw. Set in 1880s Kansas, the story follows Lucas McCalister (Patrick Scott McDermott), who accidentally kills a rancher. He is sentenced to hang. But Harland Rust breaks him out of jail, and the two escape towards Mexico. They must outrun U.S. Marshal Wood Helm and a bounty hunter named Preacher.

Tragic Production

The film was surrounded by tragedy in 2021. Baldwin accidentally fired a prop gun that killed cinematographer Halyna Hutchins and wounded director Joel Souza. Baldwin’s charges of involuntary manslaughter were dropped in 2023. However, the incident remains a dark chapter for the film.
