The Forensic Crash unit is investigating a fatal traffic crash in Bowen that killed one person and left two others in hospital.
Emergency services rushed to the intersection of the Bruce Highway and Scully Street just before 6am yesterday where two cars had collided.
One person was declared deceased at the scene. Two other patients were taken to Bowen Hospital in a serious but stable condition.

Motorists experienced delays yesterday with the Bruce closed in both directions and traffic diverted through to Drays Road to Bootooloo Road. However, the highway has now reopened.
Police are appealing for witnesses or anyone with relevant information, dashcam or CCTV vision, to come forward.
