A Townsville mother has been hospitalised following a home invasion.
Around 10am Sunday, a male offender reportedly armed with a weapon broke into a Kahana Avenue property at Burdell before being confronted by a female resident.
The offender tried to flee and was chased by the woman, before a second offender waiting outside the property threw an item at her.
The pair then fled the scene empty-handed in a vehicle, while the 38-year-old woman was taken to Townsville University Hospital with a cut to her leg.
Detectives are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the incident, or may have relevant dashcam/CCTV vision, to come forward.
Investigations are ongoing.
