Police have confirmed a driver in his 50’s has died after a horror crash on the Bruce Highway, south of Townsville.
Yesterday afternoon paramedics were called to the scene to assess the motorist for life-threatening injuries, after their silver MG ZST station wagon had a head on collision with a Kenworth prime move at Cromarty, just before 2pm.
The 55-year-old truck driver wasn’t injured, but a 51-year-old man from Victoria was pronounced dead at the scene.
There were significant delays with the highway closed in both directions for some time. A police investigation is also ongoing, with any witnesses or anyone with relevant dashcam vision urged to contact police.
